rules & guidelines

about us
we hope to foster a welcoming environment and encourage the outlandish, distinctive characters that faux is known and loved for. we are well aware that faux comms have been in decline as of late and we hope to see the genre thrive again no matter how big or small the comm ends up being! we believe that as long as we have an active core of members who want to write and stay welcoming and inclusive, we'll be on the road to success.

activity
first and foremost, intros are due within 48 hours of acceptance and must have the majority of comment replied to in order to count. journals should be updated every two weeks, but this can be with anything from a quick twitter post to a full blown interview. there's no minimum word count, anything to show activity is fine! in addition, we expect to see you commenting at least one post on the friends page each week and to never allow your friends list to get more than two weeks out of date. activity checks will be posted every two weeks and you'll need to drop the link to your update in response.

activity isn't just about posting and updating, so please don't ignore intros or only pop up to comment a select few people. if you're a member here, we expect it to go without saying that you have an interest in interacting with everyone, welcoming new blood, and fostering a wide range of connections. we don't want to suck the fun out of anything or take it too seriously, but this isn't the comm for people who aren't willing to show consistent activity.

credits
as a general rule of thumb, acting credits should be within five years of your character's age. there will be exceptions to this rule, but please just use your common sense and feel free to check with the mods if you would like to make any exceptions. you may keep a maximum of one role in common with your pb.

musicians should keep their claim's entire discography - for example, you'll need to keep destiny's child if you're picking up beyonce's credits.

behind the scenes claims should inherit an entire body of work for consistency and stylistic reasons.

all release dates should be kept the same as real life, tour dates should mirror as closely as possible but bending them is fine within reason.

we hope it goes without saying that whitewashing is not permitted, but you may give the credits of a white celebrity to a poc as long as it is realistic. gender bending is permitted on a case by case basis, please clarify with the mods beforehand.
